Mission Summary
MIF successfully completed its annual Medical Mission in Imo State, Nigeria at the Mezu International Foundation Medical Center (MIFMC). Over 1,500+ men, women, and children were cared for by more than 75 medical and non-medical volunteers, including six physicians, two pharmacists, three optometrists, 20 optometry interns, over 12 nurses, etc. We want to especially thank our sponsors, donors, and selfless volunteers who helped make this philanthropic mission possible.

All patients received free health services including but not limited to: medical exams, eye exams, prescription & sunglasses, diagnostic testing, medications, as well as preventive health counseling and follow-up.
All that attended were fed a hearty meal served by MIF’s Our Lady’s Food Kitchen program. Some of our mission statistics and impact include:.
- 70+ children treated for dehydration
- 200+ patients treated for typhoid
- 300+ patients treated for malaria and arthritis
- 200+ screened for anemia; 50 treated
- 900+ free eye exams: 500+ eye drops dispensed for dry eyes.
- 200+ prescription glasses dispensed
- 300+ toothbrushes given free
- 100+ glaucoma medications dispensed
- 350+ screened for cataracts: 150+ free sunglasses given
- 700+ screened for hypertension : 300 + treated
- 400+ patients dewormed
- 800+ patients given multivitamins
- 300+ screened for diabetes: 200+ treated
- 1500+ people educated on preventive medical care
- 200+ bottles of ocular allergy medication dispensed
- 20+ Newborn supply kits given: diapers, bulb suctions
