By making a donation to Mezu International Foundation (the “Organization”), whether through our official website, donation portal, PayPal, other authorized payment processors, or any other means, you (the “Donor”) agree to be bound by these Donation Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”).
-
Nature of Donation All donations to the Organization are voluntary, irrevocable charitable contributions made to support our mission. Unless otherwise explicitly agreed in a separate written agreement for restricted or large gifts, donations are unrestricted and may be used by the Organization in its sole discretion to further its exempt purposes. No goods or services are sold or provided in exchange for any donation. The Donor acknowledges that the donation is a pure gift with no expectation of, or entitlement to, any tangible or intangible benefit, quid pro quo, or reciprocal value from the Organization.
-
Tax Deductibility The Organization is committed to operating in compliance with applicable charitable laws. Donors may be eligible for tax deductions to the fullest extent permitted by law (e.g., under U.S. Internal Revenue Code § 170 for qualified 501(c)(3) organizations). The Organization will provide written acknowledgments for donations of $250 or more where required, stating:
- The amount of the cash contribution or a description (but not value) of any non-cash contribution;
- That no goods or services were provided in exchange for the contribution. It is the Donor’s sole responsibility to consult with their tax advisor regarding deductibility and to maintain all required records.
-
Payment Processing and PayPal Disputes and Chargebacks By making a donation, the Donor acknowledges and agrees that no goods or services are sold or provided in exchange for this payment. Mezu International Foundation does not store, access, or have visibility into any Donor’s credit card or financial information.
The Donor further acknowledges that the payment is independently initiated through PayPal and constitutes a voluntary, unsolicited charitable donation. All authorized donations are processed exclusively through PayPal and are subject to PayPal’s User Agreement and dispute resolution procedures.
In the event of a payment dispute, chargeback, or claim:
- Mezu International Foundation will cooperate fully with PayPal’s investigation;
- Evidence of this Donations Policy and related fraud notices may be submitted to demonstrate authorized payment practices;
- Payments made outside Mezu International Foundation’s official PayPal donation portal may be identified and disputed as unauthorized transactions;
- Mezu International Foundation reserves the right to contest any dispute or chargeback arising from payments that violate this policy.
The Donor agrees that any attempted reversal, chargeback, dispute, or claim for refund on the basis of receiving (or not receiving) goods/services, dissatisfaction, or similar reasons is inconsistent with the charitable nature of the gift and may be challenged by the Organization and/or PayPal. The Organization may pursue recovery of any amounts improperly reversed, including related fees, costs, or expenses.
-
Authorized Donation Channels Donations must be made only through the Organization’s official channels (e.g., official website donation page, verified PayPal button/link, or other expressly authorized methods). The Organization is not responsible for, and may not honor or acknowledge, donations made through unauthorized third-party platforms, intermediaries, or unofficial methods. Unauthorized payments may be treated as non-donations or reported as potential fraud.
-
Irrevocability and No Refunds All donations are final and non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law. The Organization does not provide refunds except in rare cases of clear administrative error (determined solely by the Organization). Donors waive any right to demand return of funds based on changed circumstances, regret, or other reasons after the donation is processed.
-
Donor Representations The Donor represents and warrants that:
- They are making the donation voluntarily and without duress;
- The funds are from legitimate sources and not derived from illegal activities;
- They have the authority to make the donation;
- They will not initiate any chargeback, reversal, or dispute except in cases of true unauthorized use of their payment method (and will first contact the Organization).
-
Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organization shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to any donation. The Organization’s total liability shall not exceed the amount of the donation in question.
-
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in the State of Maryland.
-
Amendments The Organization reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued donations after changes constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.
-
Entire Agreement These Terms constitute the entire understanding between the Donor and the Organization regarding donations and supersede any prior representations.
By proceeding with your donation, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. Thank you for supporting Mezu International Foundation‘s mission.
